Artist Statement
     My artworks were created to convey the unity that everyday objects share with our natural world. Most of us do not consider manufactured objects to be a part of nature, like a waterfall or a pine tree, but separate somehow because they are made by humans. Our perspective on this matter causes us to believe that we are separate from the world and therefore all human artifacts are separate from nature. I believe this implied separation is one of the reasons that we are not mindful of the impact of our various endeavors on the environment. My artworks are essentially trying to show that human made objects are one with the earth, not separate at all, and a reminder that we as individuals are not separate either.
